Agios Vlasios
The church is located in the region of the local community of Friligianika, at Pente Pigadia-Ammoutses.
Crossing a path full of sand and sea fossils (shells), the visitor arrives at the church of Agios Vlasios. The small church is considered one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Kythira with 13th century frescoes.
It belongs to a complex of 2 adjoining temples (Agios Vlasios and Panagia), which are one-room, vaulted, with slate slabs on the roof and 2 semi-cylindrical arches.
It is located in an area of great archaeological and geological interest. According to geologists and paleontologists, it was once a seabed hence the number of fossils.
It celebrates on the 11th of February while the previous afternoon it becomes the evening that gathers a lot of people.
