Is there internal transport on the island?

The island does not have internal transport due to the large number of settlements and the extensive road network. However, during the summer months there are itineraries from the ports when the ships arrive.

 

It is obvious that to get to know Kythira you will have to travel by car or rent a car or motorcycle on the island.

Airport - Chora | 20 kilometers

Are there accommodations that accept pets on the island?

Kythira has several accommodation companies that accept pets. You should usually consult with the owner in order to suggest the right room.

On the island there is also a vet and veterinarian all year round as well as a specialized shop selling pet items.

 

According to Greek law 4830/2021, pets can swim exclusively on unorganized beaches, as well as in the sea. Off the sea it is always mandatory to use a leash.

The island has 4 beaches with a ramp for people with special needs, Kapsali, Diakofti, Paleopoli and Agia Pelagia.

WHICH BANKS ARE AVAILABLE IN KYTHIRA AND WHAT'S THE CURRENCY?

The official currency of the island is euro (€), as in all of Greece.

 

There are branches of the National Bank of Greece and Piraeus Bank on the island.

 

You will find ATMs of the above banks as well as Eurobank and Alphabank along the entire length of the island.
