Agia Varvara & Tower
A picturesque path starting from the settlement of Kypriotianika (Drymonari) leads to the area where the ancient church of Agia Varvara and the impressive watchtower are located. In the past, a very old road that started from Avlaimonas, passed here reaching the settlement of Dokana, where it joined the main road that ended in Mylopotamos. This road has a rich history as it connected the old port of the island, which was Avlaimonas, with the rest of the island.
In the old temple that is open, there are ancient frescoes worth seeing, while the watchtower is still standing defying the relentless time that reminds of other times.
Intrepid walkers heading northeast through the bush will see Mitata and the spectacular gorge ahead.
