Fratsia
Fratsia is one of the oldest villages of Kythira dating from the 14th century. It used to be one of the most crowded with many lively settlements. During the years of British rule, a peer training school was founded in the central square, while at the beginning of the 20th century the new primary school was built next to it, which operated until about 1980 and today operates as a conference center.
Fratsia has significant agricultural and stock farming production while in its renovated square there are restaurants and cultural events take place during the summer months.
