Sea cave of Chytra

It is located on the south side of the rocky islet of Chytra or Egg/Avgo a short distance from the port of Kapsali. It is a beautiful sea cave with colors that enchant outside and inside the seabed, reminiscent of a swimming pool. The clear blue crystal waters of the sea create unique colors. At the bottom of this cave there is a shelter for seals.

On the rocky islet grows “Sempreviva”, the flower of eternal love which means “life forever” and the black peregrine falcons (Falco eleonorae), a rare protected species of hawk, nest.

One can visit the cave by boat that makes daily itineraries and departs from Kapsali during the summer months or by private boat.
